If you've never heard of shibari before: it's the Japanese art of rope bondage. Think less "what you've seen in movies" and more art form — something that takes skill, care, and a lot of trust. This workshop is about learning the craft in a space that's actually comfortable to be in. No judgment, no weird energy. Just good people, good rope, and a genuinely great evening.

What the evening looks like
You'll be in French Postcard's private lounge for the full three hours — it's a small group, so it stays personal. Your instructor walks you through foundational techniques: how to hold rope, how to tie safely, and the intention behind the art.
Come solo and you'll partner up with someone else in the group. Come with your person and you've got the whole evening together. Both are great options.
If you were at our last workshop — this session covers different material. So yes, come back.
Come early and shop 🛍
Doors open at 5:50 PM. French Postcard is right there — browse before we get started. Your ticket gets you $20 off $100+ in store or at BraTopia.
Questions
What is shibari exactly?
Japanese rope bondage — part art form, part connection practice. This workshop focuses on technique and safety, not performance. Think of it like learning a craft.
Do I need to bring anything?
Rope is provided. Wear something comfortable and skip the chunky jewelry. That's honestly it.
I've never done anything like this. Is that okay?
That's exactly who this is for. No experience needed — the instructor starts from zero and goes from there.
Do I need a partner?
Nope. Solo attendees will work with others in the group. Bring someone if you want to, but you don't have to.
Parking?
Free on-site and street parking on 4 Street NE. Easy.
Refunds?
Available up to 7 days before the event (September 4). After that, tickets are non-refundable.
